Richochet: Life in a City Under Seige From Guns

Steve Franklin, Community Media Workshop’s director of ethnic media, has been teaching journalists how to tell the stories of the human toll of violence for years.


This summer, Franklin and Craig Duff, of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, took to the streets to tell Chicago’s story.

The first 5 parts of their 6-part series, “Ricochet: Life in a City under Siege from Guns,” debuted recently on MSNBC’s website. It covers the people, problems and strategic solutions involved in the city’s epidemic.
