Prayer Vigil to be Held Today in Chicago for Charleston, S.C. Church Shooting Victims

A prayer vigil/meeting is being held today, Thursday, JUNE 18, 2015, 12 noon, at the Greater Institutional African Methodist Episcopal Church, headed by Rev. Dr. Walter B. Johnson, Jr., at 78th and Indiana, to pray for the 9 victims gunned down at the Emanuel. A.M.E. Church.

Speaking on behalf of Rev. Dr. Albert D. Tyson, III, pastor of the St. Stephen AME Church, Rev. Paul Jakes, pastor of the New Tabernacle of Faith Baptist Church, confirmed that the topic of today’s prayer vigil  will be on the Charleston, SC. Shooting.

“All faiths are moved by this,” said Jakes who confirmed that Dr. Tyson knew all of the victims and is “very shaken by their deaths.”
