Financial Education Video Game to Help DC Students Score

On Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at 101 Constitution, Heisman Trophy winner and New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram and Detroit Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles will join Representatives Steve Stivers and Cedric Richmond, the National Bankers Association and Visa Inc. in Washington D.C. to tackle the issue of financial literacy improvement among our nation’s teens. They will showcase an effort to improve the money management skills of high school and middle school students with Financial Football, a free educational video game and classroom curriculum developed by the NFL and Visa Inc.

Financial Football helps students and adults tackle their financial futures. The launch of this multi-layer program will include an online component and DVDs with additional teaching resources, which will be made available by the National Bankers Association. Details of the program will be announced at the launch.

Heisman Trophy winner and running back for the New Orleans Saint, Mark Ingram and Detroit Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles join Congressman Steve Stivers, Congressman Cedric Richmond, the National Bankers Association, and representatives from Visa for an event showcasing Financial Football.

VISUALS:

Congressman Stivers and Congressman Richmond will help kick things off. Mark Ingram and Ryan Broyles will coach the students, divided into teams, in a high energy game of Financial Football projected onto a big screen at the front of the room.
