Immediate, expert analysis available regarding counties and places in the Midwest, Illinois and Chicago Area

The U.S. Census Bureau is releasing new local information on income, poverty rates, and health insurance coverage from the American Community Survey on Thursday, September 22. National data released earlier in September showed declining incomes, stubbornly high unemployment and a drop in the number of earners with full-time year-round employment, and record numbers experiencing poverty. These new data are expected to highlight further the human consequences of the recession in local communities which continue to struggle through an anemic economy recovery. The Social IMPACT Research Center will do the analysis for you and will create a series of local fact sheets that include a 2010 snapshot and trend over time analysis.

On September 22 and 23, all day, IMPACT will release customized fact sheets based on local data for all Illinois counties and places with populations over 65,000 and Midwest states, including a 2010 snapshot and trend over time analysis. These fact sheets will be available on request and will also be made available throughout the day on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 at http://www.heartlandalliance.org/research/current-and-local-data/local-fact-sheets.html and experts on poverty will be available via phone to provide analysis of the new data and discuss their context and implications.

Amy Rynell, Director, will be available to get local data, discuss the significance of the data, and provide analysis regarding trends and their implications for your community. She can be reached at: 312.870.4957 or research@heartlandalliance.org
