Lt. Governor Simon to speak at US-India economic summit

Will discuss importance of trade with India; growth in renewable energy


Chicago, IL – Lt. Governor Sheila Simon will speak Tuesday, September 20, at an economic summit about the link between Illinois jobs and trade with India. Simon will focus on how renewable energy growth can lead to more international trade opportunities, as Illinois works to double its exports by 2014.

The event will take place at the Imperial Ballroom, Fairmont Chicago, 200 N. Columbus Drive, Chicago, at 4:15 p.m.

Simon will make her remarks alongside Farooq Abdullah, India’s Minister of New and Renewable Energy, at the US-India Economic Opportunities and Synergies Summit hosted by the Executives’ Club of Chicago in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Former U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean will moderate the Simon-Abdullah session.
