Deborah Taylor to receive MTO’s Ralph Scott Award
Deborah Taylor has been at the forefront on housing justice, employment and community mental health issues for over 35 years. She is a founding member of STOP: Southside Together Organizing for Power, one of the leading organizations that contested the city’s closure of half of its community mental health centers.Taylor also serves on the Governance Committee of the Chicago Housing Initiative.
With appreciation and respect for her selfless work, the Metropolitan Tenants Organization will present Deborah Taylor with our Ralph Scott Award.
The Ralph Scott Award, named in memory of longtime community and environmental activist Ralph Scott, is presented each year to a Tenant Leader in recognition of their contribution to renters’ rights and housing justice.
Taylor will be presented the award at Celebrating the Movement, MTO’s spring event to be held on Monday, May 11, at Revolution Brewing.
