Growing – and Leading – Better Together

This week, leaders in the Urban League Movement are gathering in Atlanta for our 2014 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Urban Leadership Conference – our annual opportunity to come together and have open dialogue on what it will take to identify, prepare and support our movement’s next generation of leaders.

While our communities have made many strides over the years, we know there remains a great deal of work to be done as we strive for social and economic equality. From police using excessive and deadly force on unarmed individuals to the ongoing concerns of unemployment, underemployment and education, our struggles continue. That is why this conference is so important.

This year’s theme—“Project Lead: Growing Better Together”—stresses the need for us to reach back and bring others along as we climb to our highest heights.
