Chicago visit of Venezuela Ambassador Designate Maximilien Sánchez Arvelaiz, May 14

“Venezuela is not a Threat; We are Hope”

DePaul University Department of History and Chicago Stands with Venezuela welcome Venezuela Ambassador designate Maximilien Sánchez Arvelaiz. His presentation, “Venezuela is not a Threat, We are Hope,” will address the important achievements of the Bolivarian revolution – in education, health care, human rights, worker rights, participatory democracy.

Ambassador Sánchez Arvelaiz will also address the issue of President Obama’s Executive Order declaring Venezuela “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security” of the United States. Every single country of Latin America and the Caribbean called on Obama to revoke his Executive Order.

Ambassador Sánchez Arvelaiz will address the issues Thursday, May 14, 7:00 p.m., at DePaul University Schmitt Academic Center, Room 254, 2320 N. Kenmore, in Chicago.
