Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble is hosting general auditions for it’s 13th season of Art & Activism. Seeking performers of all ages/races/body types, especially those with movement and/or dance experience. Specific needs for casting this spring are listed below, but we encourage all to audition as we have other projects to cast for later this year.

Auditions are on January 19th from 12-6pm at Fulton Street Collective (2000 W. Fulton Avenue). Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue; we especially encourage experimental and classical texts. We will gladly watch any dance/choreography that can be done in a small space, though we also have a movement portion during callbacks.

Please submit your headshot/resume to info@danztheatre.org and specify if you have a time preference so we can accommodate your needs. Audition slots will be scheduled in 5-minute blocks.

For our upcoming spring projects, we need the following:

Still Small Voices: Seeking 4-6 Palestinian/Middle Eastern performers, especially great if you speak Arabic. All ages welcome and we prefer performers comfortable with some movement. This show is a collection of stories told by and about Palestinians in the West Bank. Performs in April as part of our month of Art & Activism.

Waste Land: Seeking 2 male actors of any race in their late 20s/30s who can move and also have a strong grasp of classical language. This is a remount of CDE’s first show based on T.S. Elliott’s The Waste Land. This show performs in April as part of our month of Art & Activism.

Unraveling Veterans: Seeking male actors who move/dancers who act of all ages/races to join the ensemble of this devised project that is an expansion of CDE’s Unraveling Bill. This show performs in May/June at the National Veterans Art Museum.
