Black Women for Positive Change Announce National Week of Non-Violence -

Pittsburgh, PA. – On July 29, 2014, 9:30 am/EST a press conference will be held to promote the National Week of Non-Violence, August 16-23, 2014, followed by the issuance of a Proclamation by Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak, in City Hall Chambers.

The press conference will be held in the foyer outside the Pittsburgh City Council Chambers at 414 Grant Street, Pittsburgh PA 15219. Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds, nationally recognized Washington DC journalist and Chaplain of BW4PC will attend representing Black Women for Positive Change, and the Moderator will be Rev. Carol Milligan, BW4PC Pittsburgh, PA.

The National Week of Non-Violence is August 16-23, 2014, sponsored by Black Women for Positive Change and the National Summit Council, an Advisory Committee. The initiative is endorsed by Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak, Pittsburgh; Congressman John Lewis (GA), Gov. John W. Hickenlooper, Colorado; Gov. Martin O’Malley, MD; Gov. Jeremiah Nixon, Missouri; Gov. Bill Haslam, Tennessee; Governor Terry McAuliffe, VA; Governor Pat Quinn, Illinois; State Rep Ed Gainey; Mayor William Euille, Alexandria VA;. Mayor Vincent Gray, District of Columbia, and other Elected Officials. One of the key events is a National Summit on Non-Violence in Washington, DC, on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
