2012 State of Black America Report: Occupy the Vote to Educate, Employ & Empower!

With new voter ID laws and voting rights under attack, the 2012 State of Black America report, “Occupy the Vote to Educate, Employ, and Empower”,  to be released at a monumental free Town Hall event on March 7th at Howard University, will urge the nation to “Occupy the Vote” in this important election year.

The report features essays by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, President and CEO of the National Urban League Marc H. Morial, singer John Legend, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, entrepreneur and author Steve Stoute, and a host of other business and civic leaders with prescriptions for the employment and education crisis facing the nation.

The free Town Hall event and Live Webcast will be held March 7, 2012, 7 p.m EST, at Howard University, Cramton Auditorium, in Washington, DC. Doors open at 6:00 pm with DJ Chubb E. Swagg.

The event will feature community and thought leaders, a coalition of Civil Rights organizations, and YOU, as we “Occupy the Vote to Educate, Employ, and Empower!”
