VP Candidate, Chicago Activists to Hold Press Conference on Flint Water Crisis, Police Brutality, Deportations
Vice-Presidential candidate Lamont Lilly, along with Philadelphia activists Pam & Ramona Africa, and Chicago activists Daphne Jackson and Patricia Linarez, will hold a press conference addressing the need for community dialogue on the Flint water crisis, police brutality, and deportations, Friday, February 19th, 2pm CST Cook County Department of Corrections 2700 S California Ave, Chicago
Lilly is running with presidential candidate Monica Moorehead as the socialist candidates of Workers World Party (workers.org). The press conference will speak directly to these burning issues facing working-class people in Chicago, the Midwest, and across the country, symbolically choosing the Cook County Jail as the site for the conference to speak to those directly affected by mass incarceration.
The conference will begin a community conversation, which all are invited to continue, at an open and free public forum organized by Workers World Party, which will be held the following day, Saturday, February 20th at 2pm, at the UE Union Hall, 37 S Ashland Ave, Chicago.
