Biden Beats Republican Frontrunners in Head to Head Matchups in OH, FL and PA

CHICAGO, IL —A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday morning shows Vice President Joe Biden would beat Republican frontrunners by the same or larger margins than any other Democrat in the race. The poll, conducted among likely voters in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, shows that should Vice President Biden decide to run, there would be significant support.

“Americans are looking for a President who tells it like it is, and one who has a history of backing up those words with action,” said Joshua Alcorn, Senior Advisor to Draft Biden. “This is why Americans are strongly considering Joe Biden, a guy who has spent the last 40 years listening to them and working hard to address their concerns.”

In a head to head matchup, Vice President Biden would beat Donald Trump 45% to 42% in Florida, 48% to 38% in Ohio and 48% to 40% in Pennsylvania. Against other potential Republicans, Vice President Biden either beats them or exceeds the margins of other potential Democratic candidates in the field.

“Americans took a long hard look at the Republicans during the debate two weeks ago and decided that the vision they offered for America is not the right one,” said Joshua Alcorn. “The Vice President’s strength in these polls shows there is a desire to have him on the stage for the Democratic debate in October. Americans trust him to offer an alternative vision for our country – a vision that continues the path of economic recovery and ensures equal opportunity and respect for all.”
