State’s Attorney celebrates Community Partnerships
Open House to be held to commemorate 1st Anniversary of Community Justice Center-Central
Â
Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez will attend an open house celebrating the one year anniversary of the fourth Community Justice Center opened by her office in an effort to make the State’s Attorney’s Office more accessible to residents.
Community Justice Center-Central serves the 11th and 12th Chicago Police Districts along with the UIC Campus. In addition to charging and prosecuting cases, during its first year the staff of the CJC Central has been out in the neighborhoods it serves attending community functions and conducting informational seminars/workshops on topics such as avoiding scams, domestic violence, gang awareness and mortgage fraud.
The open house will take place at the Community Justice Center-Central office, 715 W. Maxwell Street, tomorrow, Thursday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. State’s Attorney Alvarez plans to visit the open house at 11:30 a.m.  and will be available for comments/interviews about the Community Justice Centers at that time.
