Sec’y of State Jesse White honors Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau among others at the Secretary of State’s 2012 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White hosted his annual National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, September 27th at the James R. Thompson Center, highlighting the historic strides of Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau and various local artists.
 Director Grau received the Lifetime Achievement Award. John Garcia of ABC 7 Chicago and Daniella Guzman of NBC 5 News emceed the event.
Honorees were awarded Distinguished Artists Awards for their creative contributions to the cultural education of Chicago communities. This year’s event also featured performances and contributions by vocalist Lily Perez, Mariachi Zapopan, Farragut Career Academy’s JROTC Color Guard, the Taki Sumak Folklore Dance Group and the Marimba Ensemble.
