Secretary of State Jesse White and White Sox Players Matt Lindstrom and Nate Jones encourage Organ and Tissue Donation during Illinois’ Donate Life Month
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White along with White Sox Announcer and kidney recipient Ed Farmer, White Sox pitchers Matt Lindstrom and Nate Jones will be registering organ and tissue donors to encourage organ and tissue donation among Illinois residents during National Donate Life Month.
They will be on hand to encourage organ and tissue donation to Illinois residents, Friday, April 26, 2013, from Noon to 1 p.m., at the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph Street, Â Concourse Level, in Chicago.
April is National Donate Life Month. White will be traveling the state as well as working with organizations to promote the importance of organ and tissue donor awareness. In Illinois, more than 5.2 million people have signed up for the registry, but every year about 300 people die waiting for their gift of life.
