NAACP to Participate in “Justice for All†March Tomorrow
WASHINGTON, DC - On Saturday, December 13, the NAACP will join other leading civil rights organizations and social justice activists from all over the country in the “Justice for All†March as part of a national demonstration against police brutality. The purpose of the rally and march is to call on Congress to take legislative action to combat racial profiling and police discrimination.
“We stand in solidarity with social justice activists from all over the country who call for an end to racial profiling and police brutality,†states NAACP President & CEO, Cornell William Brooks. “This march is one of many demonstrations to show Congress, the country and the world that we will not stand down until systemic change, accountability and justice in cases of police misconduct are served for Michael Brown, Eric Garner and the countless other men and women who lost their lives to police abuses of authority.â€
The rally will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Freedom Plaza and participants will begin marching at Noon to the Capitol—there, NAACP President & CEO, Cornell William Brooks is scheduled to give remarks along with principals from other participating civil and social justice organizations. The families of Michael Brown, Jr., Eric Garner and Tamir Rice will also be in attendance.
