Indivisible Chicago Statement on “Unprecedented and Troubling Firing” of FBI Director James Comey
Indivisible Chicago released the following statement in response to firing of controversial FBI Director by Trump administration late Tuesday. The news comes as Indivisible Chicago joins other progressive organizations around the country to stage a national protest March for Truth on Saturday June 3, 2017 that specifically calls for an independent investigation into Russian interference in our election processes, and any possible collusion with members of the Trump campaign and the Trump administration in November’s election.
“While the impact of Comey’s firing is yet to be seen, the concern on the part of progressive grassroots organizations like Indivisible Chicago is that Comey’s firing will become just another roadblock on the path to learning the truth about any possible Trump-Russia collusion. We will continue to put pressure on our elected officials to ensure a full and objective investigation into the Trump administrative ties to Russia and President Vladimir Putin.”
Indivisible Chicago will sponsor the #MarchforTruth on Saturday June 3rd. This is the latest in a series of nationwide protest marches against the Trump agenda. The goal of the March for Truth is to demand that
The House investigations be conducted in a speedy and bipartisan fashion
– or else that an independent prosecutor be named
All information is released to the public as soon as possible
Any crimes or collusion be fully prosecuted
