Do you love that corn meal crust taste you get from downtown pizza restaurants like Gino’s, Uno’s and Lou Malnati’s, but are not up for taking a trip downtown or up north? Well now you can stay on the Southside and have a pizza just as good or better.
Pizzeria Deepo in Beverly Hills (Chicago) has some of the best pizza we’ve ever tried on the Southside with a host of fresh ingredients.
Located in the Beverly Hills area across the street from the Metra train stop, it may be worth the trip from downtown Chicago to give it a try. The crust was not heavy or bulky as some of the crusts you usually get with a deep dish pizza. It was very light, but satisfying. The tomato sauce which can be a deal breaker for me if not prepared right was outstanding, and the cheese was not like chewing gum as with some mozzarella cheeses.
If you are not up for pizza, they also have appetizers, salads and sandwiches. If you are up for dessert, you can order a slice of Eli’s Cheesecake from the menu.
The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive, and the Chef/owner even came out to sing happy birthday with her staff to one of their diners.
The décor is very nice and relaxing with contemporary music playing in the background. There appears to be a deck/courtyard in the back for possible spring to Fall outdoor dining. Washrooms appear clean and well maintained.
This bring your own bottle (BYOB) is nice enough to bring a first date, celebrate an anniversary or birthday. It is also family friendly. Everyone in my party loved it! Great relaxing atmosphere and good food.
Pizzeria Deepo is located at 1742 W 99th St, Chicago, IL 60643. The phone number is 773) 840-3087. Hours are Wednesday – Saturdays from 4:00 pm–10:00 pm and Sundays 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
