Hold For-Profit Colleges Accountable: Sign The Petition

We all know that education is key to helping American families get ahead.
Unfortunately, too often, for-profit colleges are taking advantage of American students by luring them into massive student debt using inflated job placement rates, false promises of a successful future, and slick marketing — all while these for-profit colleges receive billions in federal dollars and their students can’t find jobs.
Enough is enough.
I’ve been working to hold for-profit colleges more accountable for the past several years. Fortunately, earlier this month, a new Education Department rule went into effect that would close an estimated 1,400 programs at for profit colleges across the country that do not prepare their students for gainful employment.
This is a big step forward, but the work isn’t done yet. The predatory practices of for-profit colleges continue to impact lives all over the country.
Together, we can make sure millions of our students get the quality education they deserve to help achieve the American Dream.
