Greater Washington Urban League Whitney M. Young Gala – March 13th
The Greater Washington Urban League will hold its  43RD Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Memorial Gala on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert Street NW, in Washington, DC.
GWUL will host a Black Tie & Sneakers Affair (after-party) immediately following the gala.
The gala will bring together a constellation of supporters, sponsors, staff and friends of GWUL for an event that is the organization’s oldest and largest annual fundraiser. This year’s theme, Let Us Entertain You!, features Georgetown University Sociology professor and author Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Elaine Kwon, a prize-winning concert pianist and martial artist, and violinist Kendall Isadore. There will also be a special performance by DC councilmembers Kenyan McDuffie, Yvette Alexander and Anita Bonds. Veteran NBC News4 Anchor Jim Vance will serve as master of ceremonies. Immediately after the gala will be a “Black Tie & Sneakers Affair” after-party sponsored by GWUL’s Thursday Network Young Professionals auxiliary.
