Flash! Janelle Monae, Jidenna & Wondaland Artists Take Fight Against Police Murder to Chicago

Janelle Monae, Jidenna & Wondaland artists will take the fight against police murder to Chicago City Hall – Â joining parents of people murdered by police, activists, and artists to call out mass incarceration and police terror – and contribute towards mass nationwide mobilization against it during #RiseUpOctober.
In coordination with the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, Hands Up Coalition and Stolen Lives Parents, the event will be composed of a press conference, rally and creative speak-out, with the goal merging prominent artists with victims of and fighters against police murder to draw a line in society, boldly asking the question: ‘Which Side Are You On?”.
The press conference will feature Jidenna, Janelle Monae, Wondaland artists, and an organizer with the Stop Mass Incarceration Network. As part of strengthening this effort, Wondaland artists will perform their new protest song, “Hell You Talm Bout”
Most notably, Wondaland and SMIN will be joined by family members of slain victims of police murder. Â They will notably be joined by families who are survivors of police murder.
The event will be held today, August 17, 2015, at Cloud Gate or The Bean, Millennium Park, Michigan Ave, Chicago
