FINAL PITCH, ‘The Competition’

Beginning February 07, 2015, small business owners/ entrepreneurs throughout the DC, Maryland and Virginia area will have the opportunity to pitch their business services, products, concepts and ideas for the chance to win $10,000.00!
Final Pitch, ‘The Competition’, created by Inez Kelley of Kelley Media Marketing, Inc., is a combination of acclaimed reality show ‘Shark Tank’ and the business mogul Donald Trump’s production ‘Apprentice’.
Since November 01, 2014Â many business hopefuls have anxiously submitted their application in hopes of walking away with the grand prize.
The FINAL PITCH judging panel is made up of 4 highly respected members within the business community. Ethel Mitchell, Attorney & Talk Show Host; Charlie Scott,CEO, The Financial Crisis Prevention Center; Cynthia Harrison, Operation Hope’s Small Business Development Director;  and Dr. Winslow Sargent, former Chief Counsel of Advocacy for the Small Business Administration (SBA), all make up the ‘Board of Directors’. Their knowledge and experience will offer sound and practical advice to budding entrepreneurs along with providing comprehensive formulas for success.
Each contestant will be judged on an individual scoring scale. There are 5 criteria that will be considered…
1. Innovative… Creativity
2. Viability… Niche marketability
3. Scale… Market size
4. Team… Production
5. Work Ethic…. Ability to accomplish task
The competition consists of 2 rounds. The first is the qualifier round, ‘Quick Pitch’. Each contestant will have 3 minutes to pitch to ‘The Board’ information about their business at which time, each judge will ask one (1) question. The Board will then select 5 finalists who will participate in the final round, ‘FINAL PITCH’.
This round series will allow contestants 5 minutes of pitch time each. The demonstration of approved visual and support aid (marketing plan, product/service) samples will be permitted.
The selected winner will not only win $10,000.00 in prize money but will receive over $1,000.00 in business support services.
Final Pitch is set for production and scheduled to air some time in April 2015.
It is the first of what is scheduled to cycle every 3 months. The hope is to encourage entrepreneurship and to offer support to small businesses throughout the DMV.
