Clifford Law Offices has filed a personal injury lawsuit against the bus company and bus driver allegedly involved in Friday’s crash at O’Hare Airport that left numerous people severely injured.

Michael S. Krzak, partner at the firm, filed the complaint in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of Talipha Charles, 52, of Waukegan.  Ms. Charles was a passenger sitting on the shuttle bus that unexpectedly and violently crashed early Friday morning into a concrete median as it proceeded down I-190 toward the terminals at O’Hare International Airport.

Ms. Charles of Waukegan was one of at least a dozen people who were on the shuttle bus that crashed into the concrete median.

The lawsuit was filed against Delaware Car Rental, Inc. of Schiller Park and Queshonyas Eubanks, the bus driver.  Chicago police reportedly are still investigating the occurrence.  Eubanks reportedly was cited for failing to produce a driver’s license and failing to stay in her lane.

Ms. Charles was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she was treated for broken bones, contusions and other injuries.  “It was imperative that Ms. Charles file this lawsuit so that we can take the appropriate steps to seek a protective order relating to the bus and the employment file of the bus driver so that the bus is maintained in its current condition and so that we can begin our own investigation into this completely preventable tragedy,”  Krzak said.

The lawsuit seeks a minimum of $50,000 in damages, which is the jurisdictional minimum for the Law Division in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
