REVOLUTION AND RELIGION: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion: A Dialogue Between CORNEL WEST & BOB AVAKIAN
On March 28, the new film REVOLUTION AND RELIGION: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion; A Dialogue Between CORNEL WEST & BOB AVAKIAN will premiere in cities across the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Berkeley, Chicago, and Houston. This will also be the online launch of the film at revcom.us.
The new film documents the historic dialogue between Bob Avakian, the Revolutionary Communist leader, and Cornel West, the Revolutionary Christian, that took place November 15, 2014 before a packed house of some 1,900 at Riverside Church in New York City.
Director Andy Zee explains: “The film brings you inside the exchange between Cornel West and Bob Avakian—the passion, the audacity, the science, the morality, and most of all the deep substance of their call for fundamental change, for revolution, in the face of the horrors of the world today. This question, the fight for emancipation and the role of religion, impacts the lives of billions on the planet.â€
The dialogue brought together front-line fighters from as far away as Ferguson, young people and students, artists, college professors, and many more.
