An Evening of Shakespeare’s Sonnets!
Illinois Shakespeare Festival presents The Young Performers’ Sonnet Slam Contest at Illinois Wesleyan University, Hansen Center, Wednesday, November 20, at 7 P.M.
An Evening of Shakespeare’s Sonnets! Students from area high schools will compete by reciting Shakespearean Sonnets for a three-judge panel. The Festival has spent the fall working with area students in preparation of the event. All contestants have advanced from an in-school contest.
A sonnet is a poem consisting of fourteen lines; Shakespeare wrote 154 sonnets about love, beauty, and time which were published and widely distributed during his lifetime.
The event is FREE – No reservations are needed. Free Parking!
