NAACP Continues Long Tradition of Inviting Candidates to Speak at Annual National Convention

BALTIMORE, MD – Every presidential election cycle, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) invites the Republican and Democratic presumptive nominee for president to address the NAACP membership at its annual convention. This year, the Association cordially invited Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump to join a long, non-partisan tradition of speaking to the convention constituency of the nation’s oldest civil rights organization. The NAACP’s 107th National Convention will be held July 16-20 in Cincinnati, Ohio under the theme, “Our Lives Matter, Our Votes Count.” The convention will feature workshops, discussions and speakers highlighting voter education, voter protection and voter mobilization.

The NAACP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and does not endorse candidates or political parties, or engage in direct campaigning.
