Latino Community Calls for Justice for the Castellanos Family
Community Meeting will be held Wednesday January 20th.,, 6 p.m., at 1237 N. California Ave.
An ad hoc community group of pastors and community activist are demanding justice for the Castellanos family and all innocent victims of police shootings. The group is demanding that the federal government present its findings into the two-year-old investigation.
‘We are asking for the resignation of Anita Alvarez and that she be charged for the obstruction of justice in this investigation and that of Laquan McDonald and many others. We are seeking to join other communities across the city to demand justice for all.”
Esau Castellanos was fatally shot by two police officers who fired 13 shots in March 2013. The shooting has been under federal investigation for two years as the initial police reports fell apart.
