On the heels of news that nearly fifty key fundraisers had released a letter offering their support for the Vice President, he was warmly welcomed at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation prayer breakfast on Saturday.Meanwhile, Draft Biden made a strong showing at the New Hampshire Democratic Party convention as part of the continued effort to build infrastructure for the vice president in early primary states, and continued to expand its volunteer activities in all fifty states.And this weekend, we learned that Dr. Jill Biden would support his decision to enter the race. Report: Joe Biden moves closer to joining presidential race. “A group of more than 50 Democratic fundraisers and activists signed a letter to encourage Biden to enter the race and continue what they called the “spectacular success†of the Obama-Biden administration. The list includes fervent Biden boosters, such as Dick Hartpoolian, a former chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, and Jon Cooper, a Long Island businessman raising money for a super PAC laying the groundwork for a possible Biden bid…”If Joe Biden gets in the race, it will be a new day,” Rep. Biden receives warm welcome at Congressional Black Caucus event. “Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday received a warm welcome at a breakfast for the Congressional Black Caucus’s Annual Legislative Conference, a positive sign for him as he mulls a presidential bid. When Biden was introduced by CBC President G.K. Butterfield and CBC Foundation Chair R. Donahue Peebles, he received two standing ovations and thunderous applause from the crowd. In his introduction, Peebles told the audience that Biden ‘is a man who has not backed down from any challenge.’†[CNN, 9/19/15]

The group, which has been working for months to recruit Biden for a 2016 bid, cited the Democratic donor memo as proof of increased interest. In a internal memo obtained by CBS News, Draft Biden staffers boasted that since the vice president’s Late Show interview, they’ve seen an 800 percent increase in daily sign-ups for the organization. The group working to build an infrastructure for a Biden run has not been told to stop its efforts, and that’s provided hope for supporters that Biden will eventually jump into the race.†[CBS News, 9/19/15]

Jill Biden, sources tell NBC’s Chuck Todd, is 100 percent on-board with a presidential run, despite reports indicating her hesitation is part of what’s keeping Biden from jumping into the race.
