16 Chicago Nonprofits to Receive Grants From Illinois Bar Foundation
CHICAGO, IL – Sixteen Chicago nonprofit agencies are among 23 law-related nonprofit organizations statewide that have been awarded grants from the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF), the charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
Among the Chicago organizations receiving grants are the following:

Chicago Volunteer Legal Services – $10,000
Domestic Violence Legal Clinic – $10,000
Farmworkers and Landscaper Advocacy Project – $5,000
Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center – $7,500
Illinois Equal Justice Foundation – $5,000
Illinois Legal Aid Online – $15,000
Lawyers’ Committee for Better Housing – $7,500
Lakeview: Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation – $5,000
Lawndale: Lawndale Christian Legal Center – $5,000
Little Village: Chicago Law and Education Foundation – $5,000
River West: Cabrini Green Legal Aid – $10,000
River North: Public Interest Law Initiative – $15,000
University Village/Little Italy: Chicago Lighthouse for People who are Blind or Visually Impaired – $5,000
Uptown: Uptown People’s Law Center – $5,000
The mission of the Illinois Bar Foundation is to ensure meaningful access to the justice system, especially for those with limited means, and to assist lawyers who can no longer support themselves due to incapacity. This year, the Foundation will distribute more than $400,000 in grants to legal aid organizations across the state of Illinois, and to support attorneys and their families in need.
