Illinois Departments of Corrections, Juvenile Justice Honor Fallen Heroes
The Illinois Department of Corrections and the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice are paying tribute to their fallen heroes. Thirty five men and women have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the line of duty. Each of their names is listed on a memorial wall at the Illinois Department of Corrections campus in Springfield.
The IDOC and IDJJ will also be honoring current employees who have demonstrated leadership and professionalism over the past year. More than 40 people were nominated for the highest honor of Correctional Officer of the Year, Parole Agent of the Year, Juvenile Justice Specialist of the Year, and Juvenile Justice Aftercare Specialist of the Year.
The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5th at 1301 Concordia St. in Springfield.
