Dear Chairman Gilmour:

I am writing to initiate a dialog with you and invite you to come to the table and meet with Mr. Henderson, attorney for Jackie Robinson West and myself.  There are many retired Judges who could act as mediator so that everyone’s interest is protected.

I believe most of the nation feels that these children are being punished for actions that were not theirs.  These kids played the game, they were the appropriate age, the balls used were standard, the bats used were standard they followed all the rules on the field and played with good sportsmanship.   If there is any information that can explain the stripping of the title from the children I think it is in the best interest of the entire Little League community to give us a written explanation of your decision.

Please come to the table so we can at least have a conversation.  The entire Little League community deserves a written explanation with documentation of the decision to strip a winning team of their title in the World Series Tournament.

Please respond to Attorney Henderson’s request for a written response with documentation at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Monique D. Davis

State Representative, 27th District
