Kirk Warns Against New U.S. Concessions in Iran Nuclear Talks
WASHINGTON, IL – U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) released the following statement in response to the new round of reported U.S. nuclear concessions in ongoing negotiations with Iran:
“The Administration is eager to add Iran to its list of ‘breakthroughs’ that include a misguided Russian Reset with Ukraine under siege, withdrawn assistance to Libya that yielded a terrorist safe haven, Assad’s repeated chemical weapons attacks in Syria despite the President’s ‘red line,’ abandonment of Iraq that paved the way for the Islamic State (ISIS), and the collapse of our counterterrorism ‘success’ story in Yemen.
“The American people do not want the Iranian terror state to have nuclear weapons or hidden nuclear capabilities. A bad nuclear deal with Iran will endanger the security of the United States, Israel and our Arabian Gulf allies. We must protect our children from ever witnessing an Iranian-initiated nuclear war in the Middle East.â€
