Grammy-Winning Singer Natalie Cole in Concert Feb. 7 at North Central College
NAPERVILLE, IL – North Central College presents Grammy-Winning Artist Natalie Cole in concert Feb. 7.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in the College’s Pfeffier Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $95, $85 and $75; call the North Central College Box Office 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
Following the release of her latest album, “Natalie Cole en Español,” Cole’s nationwide tour features her smooth, lush vocals in a captivating tribute to legendary Latin music composers and her late father Nat King Cole, world-class singer and pioneer for racial equality. Cole also performs versions of her own classic hits such as “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” “Unforgettable” and “When I Fall in Love.”
Cole is an accomplished R&B and jazz vocalist and nine-time Grammy Award-winner. The release of her first Spanish-language album derives inspiration from both the bilingual recording legacy of her father and a growing passion for the timeless romanticism of the great Latin music composers. In light of her remarkable recovery from a kidney transplant, Cole found a deeper appreciation for her father’s groundbreaking Latin recordings and a desire to further extend her family’s commitment to bilingual music.
This performance by Cole is part of North Central College’s annual Black History Month celebration. Nicor Gas is an underwriting sponsor of this concert and of events during MLK Week in January and Black History Month in February at North Central College.
North Central’s 2014-2015 Fine and Performing Arts Season is partially sponsored by season supporters, including BMO Harris, Casa by Charleston, The DuPage Community Foundation, Grant Thornton, J.P.
