Tell the NRA: There’s No Place For Hate Speech!

With complete disregard for constructive gun safety debate, an NRA lobbyist reached a whole new level of hateful disrespect. The lobbyist told voters that a Jewish person who wants strong gun laws supports “the same policy that led to his family getting run out of Germany by the Nazis.” It’s shocking that the NRA still hasn’t condemned their spokesperson for this blatant hate speech.

An NRA lobbyist has compared Jews fleeing Nazi Germany to the push for stricter gun protection in the U.S. The NRA should condemn their lobbyist for what he said:

“It’s like any Jewish people I meet who are anti-gun, I think, are you serious? Do you not remember what happened? …You come to this country and you support gun control? Why did you have to flee to this country in the first place?”

Comparing gun safety regulation to the Holocaust is hate speech and the NRA should immediately condemn its lobbyist. But the NRA has gone completely mute. Without any comment whatsoever, it’s almost like the NRA doesn’t have a problem with what their lobbyist said! Hateful comments fuel the kind of gun debate that will only makes matters worse. This is not the kind of speech that we should tolerate.

If we are going to create a solution to America’s gun problem, then both sides of the gun debate need to come together. Any chance to unite for commonsense gun solutions is thrown out the window with these kinds of hateful comments. Tell the NRA: your lobbyist’s hateful comments have no place in our nation’s debate about gun safety.
