Topinka to launch Illinois Nonprofit Advisory Council
CHICAGO, ILÂ – Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka will stand with nonprofit leaders from across the state for a noon press conference to kick-off the formation of the Illinois Nonprofit Advisory Council on Wednesday, July 17 at the James R. Thompson Center, Atrium.
The Council will meet regularly to discuss funding for service organizations and ways to address the staggering fiscal challenges facing nonprofits.

Last July, Topinka embarked on the Illinois Has Heart Tour, a 4-day, 11-stop statewide tour, to encourage Illinois not-for-profit agencies to contact her office if they were on the verge of closing due to state payment delays. Additionally, she directed staff to prioritize payments for day programs, child group homes, community living facilities and other programs serving the developmentally disabled.
