Glenview, IL –Kohl Children’s Museum invites families to dress up for “A Night at the Museum” family costume ball on Friday, July 26 from 6 p.m.to 8:30 p.m. at the museum facility at 2100 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, IL 60026. Imaginations will run wild as guests have the rare opportunity to explore the museum after-hours and enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing, family photographs, a live DJ and a special guest appearance by Princess Belle. Children will also have the opportunity to have Color Spray, Quick Braids and “Fauxhawk” hairstyles done on site courtesy of event sponsor KidSnips Hair Salon. Costumes are encouraged (though not required) for adults and kids alike.

Tickets are $32 per person or $16 for museum members and can be purchased at www.kohlchildrensmuseum.org or by calling (847) 832-6600. All proceeds from the event benefit the Museum’s exhibits, programming, and numerous outreach programs.

“We drew many positive comments from attendees of last year’s Super Moms event and Daddy-Daughter Dance, so it only made sense to combine the two into one big event the whole family can enjoy together,” said Sheridan Turner President and CEO of the Kohl Children’s Museum. “Children are so enamored with dress-up and pretend play; this event will give them a chance to really stretch their imaginations and explore new personas in a safe and supportive atmosphere.”

Kohl Children’s Museum’s award winning interactive exhibits and outreach programs give the power of play to nearly 350,000 children and their caregivers a year. These outreach programs include:

  • Early Childhood Connections: free field trips and professional development for teachers in low-income areas
  • Everyone at Play: free Museum visits for families with children with special needs
  • Fitness for All: teacher training and field trips based on nutrition and healthy lifestyles
  • Off-the-Street Club: free on-site programming and Museum field trips for children in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood

Daily Discoveries: free public programming every day in the Museum’s Adventures in Art studio with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & design, Math) focus.
