Real Talk: Athlete-Turned-Author empowers youth through speaking engagements

About Niema Golphin
Niema Golphin was the eleven-time All-American who was also the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) four-time national champion in the 200 and 400 meter events in 2003 and 2004. In the 400 meter event, she still currently holds the Golden State Conference record of 53.5 seconds. She earned a B.A. in physical education and a M.S. in organizational leadership from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in California. In 2010, Golphin joined Philadelphia University’s coaching staff, leading the brand new Women’s Track & Field squad to NCAA champion status for their division.

Golphin is now CEO of Growing Up Publishing, LLC. Under the auspices of the Growing Up Publishing corporation, she operates the Life Preparatory Skills Program (LPSP) and the Discovering Your Greatness Now workshop series. As a motivational speaker, Golphin leads workshops and conducts seminars based on the LPSP model. Initially created to assist Philadelphia’s high school girls as they transition into adulthood, the Life Preparatory Skills Program has grown to empower young men and women throughout the state of Pennsylvania and at conferences and other venues along the east coast region.
