John Mahoney to Attend to Pay Tribute to his Frasier Co-Star

 

 

CHICAGO, IL – Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival will honor Kelsey Grammer with the CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD at the 48th Hugo Television Awards Ceremony on April 19 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago, 221 N. Columbus Drive.

 

John Mahoney, the well known television, film and theater star with long-standing ties to the Chicago area, will be on site to pay tribute to his former Frasier co-star.

Best known for his award-winning role as Dr. Frasier Crane, among countless other roles, the evening’s tribute to actor/producer/director Kelsey Grammer will include highlights from his illustrious television career in addition to the Career Achievement Award presentation to Mr. Grammer in person.

 

Earlier this year, Mr. Grammer received the Golden Globe® for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Mayor Tom Kane in the Starz drama, Boss. As Dr. Frasier Crane, Kelsey Grammer played the celebrated character in three television series (Wings, Cheers, and Frasier) for over 20 years, and has won four Emmys, two Golden Globes and a SAG Award and has received an unparalleled 16 Emmy nominations, eight Golden Globe nominations, and 16 SAG nominations.

 

“For decades Kelsey Grammer has entertained us – across genres and media he has proven himself to be a remarkable talent,” states Michael Kutza, Founder and Artistic Director of Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival. “From the stage to the screen, from behind the camera to our television, Grammer has provided audiences with some of our most beloved, iconic characters. We are thrilled to honor him for his television work at the Hugos.”

 

Presented by Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival, the 48th Hugo Television Awards will take place on Thursday April 19 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel with hosts Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini of ABC 7 Chicago’s “Windy City LIVE”. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and includes a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres, followed by the Awards Ceremony in the main ballroom. Awards will be presented to the year’s winning television commercials and productions, as well as the Career Achievement Award to Kelsey Grammer and the Commitment to Excellence Award to OPTIMUS.
