Widow of Bishop Michael Carter in need of Van to keep school/church going
By Chinta Strausberg
Â
Mrs. Gerri Carter, the widow of Bishop Michael Carter, is in need of immediate transportation. She has a small school and church and is in a financial bind due to the state of Illinois’ backlog in releasing her school funding.
Carter is doing her best to keep both the school, Reach Christian Academy, 7400 S. Michigan, a pre-school to high school facility, located in Ald. Roderick Sawyer’s (6th) Ward and Senator James T. Meek’s district, and the church up and running.
Her immediate need is to borrow a van to transport her students, family and herself from church to school including bible study.
Her state funding has been held up until around December 20, 2011. Â That is when she is hoping and praying her state funds will come in so she can keep both the school and the church operating.
If you have a van she can use until her state funding comes in, please call her at: 773- 994 4640, or e-mail her at: reachchristianacademy@yahoo.com. Ultimately, Mrs. Carter wants to own her own van.
