“A Black History Tour of St. Louis” Documentary Film Screening
ILLINOIS – SIUE and the College of Arts and Sciences and Black Studies is proud to bring the documentary film, “A Black History Tour of St. Louis” to the SIUE campus this October! The award-winning film is a local odyssey taking the audience into the little-known historical presence of African Americans in St. Louis, Missouri. Narrated by St. Louis’s own Father Gerry Kleba and directed by Tony West, the documentary tours the neighborhoods and communities shaped by African American presence; a lineage important to St. Louis, the State of Missouri, and American cultural history. We welcome the SIUE student body, faculty, staff, and the Metro East communities to join us in celebrating local art, history, talented, and diverse voices.
The event is free and open to the public! Come out and join us for an enlightening evening, and experience St. Louis from a new, historic perspective. Refreshments will be served.
The reception starts: 4:45 PM
Film screening at 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Followed by Q&A with the Filmmakers.
