Chicago, IL – Swearing-In Ceremonies will be held today for Cook County Board President-Elect Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Assessor-Elect Joseph Berrios.
 The Inauguration Day schedule for Preckwinkle, the first African-American woman and the only woman to be elected President of the Cook County Board, is as follows:
10 a.m.: Special Meeting of the Cook County Board of Commissioners (Swearing In), County Board Room, Cook County Building, 118 North Clark St, Chicago, Il 60602.Â
1:00 p.m.: Inauguration Ceremony, Sidney R. Yates Gallery at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St, Chicago IL, 60602. The program will begin at 1:30 PM. Doors open for set up at Noon.
Joseph Berrios, the first Hispanic-American elected Cook County Assessor, will be sworn-in as the ninth assessor since the office was established in 1932.
The Swearing-In schedule for Berrios is as follows:
1:00 p.m.: Cook County Building, 118 N. Clark St., Room 569 (Cook County Boardroom).
Before their general election wins, Preckwinkle was a Chicago Alderman and Berrios was a Commissioner on the Cook County Board of Appeals.
