U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez recently toured a new and unique residential facility in the Chicago area that will provide long-term services and treatment for young girls who become victims of sex trafficking.

During the tour, Durbin and Alvarez discussed their cooperative efforts to step up awareness on domestic sex trafficking and the passage of the Illinois Safe Children Act, a new law that puts Illinois at the forefront of states that have enacted laws to address the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children.

The facility, Anne’s House, will be operated by the Chicago Metropolitan Division of the Salvation Army.
