Prosecutors honored by DEA
Three Cook County Assistant State’s Attorneys were recently honored by the Chicago Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency for their work on a 2009 narcotics case that resulted in the arrests of 10 individuals and the seizure of more than $8.7 million in heroin and cocaine.
The six month long investigation targeted individuals working for two drug rings that were importing large amounts of narcotics from Mexico.Â
State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez congratulated the award recipients and commended their work and the cooperative efforts of all the agencies involved in “Operation Copperhead.â€
