Neighborhoods opposed to Weapons to hold Violence Prevention Walk

 Chicago, IL - In an effort to increase awareness of “Stop the Violence Campaign”, Neighborhoods Opposed to Weapons (NOW), will hold its first Violence Prevention walk today (September 25) from St. Elizabeth’s Church playground  at 41st and State, through the historic Bronzeville Community. 

The “Stop the Violence Campaign started two months ago.

Argentry Mitchell, a member of the organization, said, “We have been very successful in the last two months.  There has not been a shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood”.

Mitchell said the Neighborhood CAPS program applauded NOW’s efforts in stopping the violence.

NOW is presently working with CAPS.
