Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has been endorsed by the Illinois AFL-CIO for re-election in 2010.
“This is a significant endorsement because the AFL-CIO represents 1,500 local unions and over one million working men and women in Illinois,” White said. “Their support and trust is very important to our campaign, and to me personally.”
White is seeking a fourth term. The AFL-CIO supports candidates in Illinois government who address issues affecting working families. After review of records, the AFL-CIO chose Secretary White as the best candidate for Secretary of State. The AFL-CIO has notified affiliate local unions and organizations of their current endorsement.
“I am motivated now more than ever to continue to work for the people of Illinois and honored to be the Secretary of State,” White said.
