Brazile to keynote The Working Lunch, Women Employed’s don’t-miss annual event
Â
Chicago, IL – Veteran political analyst and CNN commentator Donna Brazile will be in Chicago on Thursday, May 19th to address nearly 1,000 business, civic, and education leaders at The Working Lunch, Women Employed’s annual event. Ms. Brazile, best-selling author of Cooking with Grease, worked on every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000, and was the first African-American woman to manage a major presidential campaign, when she served as Vice President Al Gore’s campaign manager in 2000.
A New Orleans native, Ms. Brazile began her political career at the age of nine when she campaigned for a City Council candidate who promised to build a playground in her neighborhood. He won, the playground was built, and Ms. Brazile found her calling to make a difference in the world. Through hard work and personal resolve, Brazile, who began her childhood in poverty, has become a respected and influential political voice, whom Essence magazine named one of the Top 50 Women in America. At The Working Lunch, Ms. Brazile will speak to the crowd about how every single person has the power to make a difference in the world, and every type of commitment, both personal and political, matters.
Â
“We’re so excited to have Donna Brazile at The Working Lunch this year,†Women Employed Executive Director Anne Ladky stated. “Women Employed is all about inspiring people to get involved and make a difference for lower-paid women and their families—and I know Donna will motivate our guests to make their voices heard on the important economic issues facing women today.â€Â Â
