Attorney General Madigan Reacts to Federal Administration’s Inhumane Immigration Policies

CHICAGO, IL – Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan issued the following statement in response to the federal administration’s recently announced immigration policies that separate families at the border and turn away survivors of domestic violence:

“It’s painful to think of anything more barbaric and unforgiving than tearing children away from their parents, especially when they are seeking a better, safer life in our country. Turning away survivors of domestic violence is no less merciless. The federal administration’s complete disdain for women and children betrays American values.”
