The C-O-M-P-E-T-I-T-I-O-N is intense. The words are hilarious. Let the spelling begin! This quirky and funny Tony Award-winning musical, by Rachel Sheinkin and William Finn, centers on a fictional spelling bee in Putnam County where six young people in the throes of P-U-B-E-R-T-Y, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a L-O-S-E-R.Come see the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Center for the Performing Arts at Illinois State University.
