Cook County Board Approves Four Tax Incentives Designed to Support Economic Growth

Cook County Commissioners approved four proposals from President Toni Preckwinkle’s Bureau of Economic Development (BED) that will provide tax incentives to businesses in Cook County.

The incentives, which will either create new or save existing jobs, were approved in the following communities: Bridgeview (two), Dolton and Wheeling. 

As a result of redevelopment activities, these incentives should support the creation of an estimated 43 new private sector full-time jobs, retain an estimated 86 full-time jobs and support 40 construction jobs.

“The companies receiving these incentives have demonstrated their commitment to our communities and residents,” Preckwinkle said. “I’m pleased that we are able to use our tax incentive tools to either keep or expand businesses in Cook County.”

Details on the incentives follow, listed by municipality:

·         Business Name:  PRH Trucking Inc., 8711 South 77th Avenue, Bridgeview

Type of Business:  Full service trucking/cross docking/short-term warehouse operation

Project Description: The company is expanding and relocating to the subject property it will own.

Type of Incentive: Class 6b

Estimated: Three full-time jobs created; 40 full-time jobs retained; 10 construction jobs supported.

·         Business Name:  Rex Carton Project, 7400 Richards, Bridgeview

Type of Business: Corrugated cardboard converter

Description: Applicant plans to lease the property for Rex Carton, one of the largest corrugated cardboard converter companies in the Chicagoland area.

Type of Incentive: Class 6b

Estimated: 36 full-time jobs retained; 10 construction jobs supported

·         Business Name: Sibley Animal Hospital/Dolton Stray Animal Program,  15022 Lincoln Avenue, Dolton

Type of Business: Animal Hospital

Description: The applicant owns Sibley Animal Hospital.  They will be relocating and expanding to the subject property and opening the Dolton Stray Animal Program.

Type of Incentive: Class 8

Estimated: Two full-time jobs created; 11 jobs retained; 10 construction jobs supported

·         Business Name:  Bathing Brands (d/b/a:  Accurate Industries),  511 Glenn Ave., Wheeling

Type of Business: Steam and sauna environments for design

Description: Applicant plans to lease the property for Bathing Brands (d/b/a:  Accurate Industries) a related company that specializes in steam and sauna environments  for design, build assembly and distribution servicing health clubs, hotels and spas, and residential customers nationally.

Type of Incentive: Class 6b

Estimated: 38 full-time jobs created; 35 full-time jobs retained; 10 construction jobs supported
